Wireless Video

We purchased a CCD camera, a 900MHz video transmitter, and a 900MHz video receiver (12V) from SuperCircuits.com. (I've seen the popular X10 stuff, but was not impressed by the range/quality of the system).

Video Test 1: Around the House and Down the Street

To see how the wireless video system would perform, we taped it to the old UAH Rover I RC Truck and drove it around the house and down the street. We had to cut a hole in the front of the clear body so that the video camera could see out. You can see the edges of the body flapping around in the video.

Around the house, the system worked fine. A small amount of flicker was seen, but overall everything looked good.

Going down the street had several problems. First, we tried using a longer antenna. Once we get the original antenna on again and begin driving, there is too much interference and drop out. We believe that this is because of of the nearby power lines and houses--as well as our receiver being on the inside of the furthest side of Adam's house.
